I have been on accutane a month and 2 weeks and am thinking since i have to be on accutane and when its over i will be left with all my marks still so it will take me time for them to heal. Could i use a cream at night that would help with the acne marks right now because it makes it look like i have more acne than i really do?
hello there - I have severe acne, blackheads and rosacea/eczema all on my face. Tough break huh?
Well… When I use makeup to cover up these severe imperfections, You can clearly see I am wearing makeup giving the classic ‘cake/powder face’ look. Now I must ask - which of the two evils is better? a red acne face or a powdery cake face?
I feel insecure both ways but would love to know which one is more socially acceptable.
Oh yes I am currently on accutane and have been on several powerful antibiotics. :).. I have had limited results so far and they do not clear up rosacea or exzcema.
I’m very frustrated. I had acne all through my teens and some in early college. I had been through accutane 3 times in HS and in college it was mostly under control.. especially the last few years.
Now I’ve moved, and for some reason I keep breaking out everywhere, they are usually smallish but persistant. It warmer and more muggy here and I walk around alot… possibly extra sweat = acne??
Anyone else frustrated with this? A recurrance way later in life. Girls can put makeup on atleast but guys are kinda stuck with it.
I’m healthy, eat pretty well, and have a relatively low stress level… what can I do? If it continues to get worse I might try accutane again in very small doses.. that always worked.
Any ideas for products that have worked? I use astringent sometimes in certain spots and just wash with soap. I’ll put hydrocortisone on red spots.. though I think any anti-redness there is just wishful thinking.
Any ideas?
Two different doctors over the course of five years have just written me a prescription for Accutane. It just keeps popping back up just as bad, or this time worse.
Lately I’ve been having cystic acne (blind zits). I used to only get them about once per year, rarely twice per year. Since October I have had 6 of them. I’ve been on the pill for over a year and a half and I know they say BC is one way of helping the cysts. Is the medicine wearing off? I’m not on insurance so it’s not like I can just walk into a clinic and ask for Accutane, my budget is pretty slim as it is.
Are there any home sollutions that actually work on cystic acne? Because that’s all I’m looking for.
I posted this before, and all the answer I got were not effective. Don’t suggest Proactive, epsom salt, lemon juice, witch hazel, toothpaste, hot compress, popping (and yes I know you’re not supposed to pop cysts), eyedrops to get rids of redness, rubbing alcohol, face wash, exfoliant…I wash my face once, sometimes twice a day and exfoliate almost everyday since I have very dry skin. Will anything besides these work?
The amount of times I’ve popped them, whether cystic or not…I scar when I don’t pop them. So you’re wrong about the scarring, because I’m proof of it.
And if I had a tomato I would use it. Otherwise there is a bottle of OJ, a pitcher of filtered water, and a loaf of bread in my fridge, aside from condiments that’s pretty much it. So no tomatoes here…
Hi im a 15 year old male and i have a moderate case of cystic acne and i need to get rid of it. I went to a dermatologist and he told me i should take accutane. Im thinking about it, but then i also think about the side affects and think is there any other way. Any other drugs or medicines or surgeries besides accutane. Im really getting sick of my acne
My boyfriend has cystic acne. Dermotologists haven’t helped; they’ve only perscribed Accutane, which is something that didn’t work at all and he’s tried Proactiv, among a butt load of other things. We’ve tried desperately to get rid of it and nothing is working. Any suggestions?
Ok, I am really starting to feel very self-conscious about the acne on my face, chest and back. I have been on Erythromycin gel and Finacea cream for several weeks and nothing has improved. Of course, I was told no benzoyl or salycylic products. Has ANYBODY tried anything that has worked????? I am going into my 16th week, so please don’t tell me things will improve after my first trimester- they are definitely not.
Oh, I am 31 and have dealt with some form of adult acne for most of my life. It finally took 6 months of Accutane to clear me up. Could this mean that there is no real pregnancy- safe medication that will help me?
I appreciate any real advice.
Hi all! Any feed back on this would be much appreciated! I’m 25 years old and for the past few years been suffering from cystic pimples mostly on my cheeks and chin. Ive been on multiple oral antibiotics that were supposed to kill whatever infection was under my skin and none have helped, I’ve tried Pro Active and that was a nightmare just made it 20 x worse! Ive also tried numerous topical creams that pretty much dried my skin so bad the pimples would peel and bleed and look even worse. I dont have a severe case but its pretty bad in my eyes, i have scars all over my cheeks and chin and am becoming tad bit depressed over it, i dont know what else to do without having to try accutane which i really do NOT want to do. Anyone have any helpful suggestions? Anyone have or had this problem and the outcome was successful? I’m all ears…
My girlfriend has had extreme acne for a long time. She was just on Accutane, but her acne is still coming back. She’s tried everything the dermatologist has had her do. I’m sure there are others out there that have the same issues with extreme acne. What have you done to fix his problem, or make it at least slightly better?
