ive tried creams and i dont see a change in my face. i quit taking antibiotics for my acne because of stomach pain and stuck with natural soap and a cream. But the cream, idk doesnt help on my face. Should I just leave out the cream and just clean my face with natural soap and thats it?

I’m trying tbsp of coconut oil a day now, and I just started yesterday. Any other ideas.

My skin is extremely sensitive, and thus, I only wash once at night with soap and no soap in the morning. I do not use any product on my face besides the soap at night. I have been doing this regimen for a few weeks now, and my face is still red. I also stopped using makeup a few weeks ago, because I’m trying to solve rather than cover-up the problem.

I’ve tried various products in the past which didn’t help:
egg yolk — helps for acne but does nothing for redness
erythromycin — irritating somewhat and doesn’t help redness
castor oil & jojoba oil — both together and alone; not very helpful
salicylic acid — too irritating
benzoyl peroxide — too irritating
proactive — too irritating
omega 3 — made flushing worse
switching soaps — anything besides the cetaphil bar soap makes me break out — and yes, that includes even the cetaphil cleanser
doxycycline — really helped, but i stopped taking it after 2 months because my stomach started hurting, and i know antibiotics are not safe for long-term use

Is there anything natural out there like doxycycline that helped someone with their rosacea? Preferably something internal, because pretty much everything topical is ineffective and/or irritating.

Thanks!!

hello there - I have severe acne, blackheads and rosacea/eczema all on my face. Tough break huh?

Well… When I use makeup to cover up these severe imperfections, You can clearly see I am wearing makeup giving the classic ‘cake/powder face’ look. Now I must ask - which of the two evils is better? a red acne face or a powdery cake face?

I feel insecure both ways but would love to know which one is more socially acceptable.
Oh yes I am currently on accutane and have been on several powerful antibiotics. :).. I have had limited results so far and they do not clear up rosacea or exzcema.

i have very bad rosacea, my face is constantly red, i am constantly flushing and i have bad cysts and acne. i’ve used tetracycline and metrogel and it worked for a little bit but eventually stopped working, i was on it for almost a year. i am not a big fan of constantly being on antibiotics!! and i’ve tried proactiv with the same results. i cant afford laser treatments so thats a no go too.. is there anything else out there i can try without it irritating my skin further? preferably over the counter or natural?? i’ve been to the dermatologist and they just keep forcing the antibiotics and metrogel and i’m all set, it didnt work the first time why should i take it now? i’ve read up on some rosacea websites and some people recommend using rosemary oil or prosacea cream. has anyone had any experience with either?? also are there any suggestions on a good cleanser and moisturizer i can use? any help is greatly appreciated as i am at my wits end with this terrible red and painful face!!!

I am 17 with fair hair, Ive had acne since i was 12, when i was was 13 i started scrubbing my face every mornin and steam sometimes( like i had ocd or somethin), sometimes i would scrub my face until it stung. When i was 14 i was given antibiotics and isotrexin gel for my acne which made little difference; one possible side effect of antibiotics was increased sun sensetivity(it said so on the instructions) and the gel made my whole face burn. This was in the summer time, I never wore sunscreen and got burnt a few times, I carried on like this for a year. When i was 15 people started commenting, asking if id been in the sun and i realised my face was quite pink. Since then ive stopped takin the antibiotic sand steaming my face, but i couldnt break the habit of scrubbing my face and using the gel, until a couple of months ago. the acne is almost gone now but my whole face is still quite pink, could i have rosacea or really bad sun damage? sorry if i dont make sense

HI ladies, I just got my BFP yesterday. I am 10DPO. I have been prone to breakouts over the past year, I woud say moderate acne. I woke up this morning with an awful flare up. I am not on any antibiotics for it, since we were TTC and have a topical ointment I put on, differin gel Is it normal to get acne this early and what can I do to help it with out using harsh products that could affect my baby? Do not get me wrong, I am thrilled to be pregnant and if I have to deal with this acne the rest of my life, I would not care as long as I have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Just a brand new mommy with lots of questions thanks!!

I have been to many dermatologist and they all want to put me on 2 different antibiotics and pills and 2 harsh creams, with all these crazy side effects.

I’m just wondering if anyone out there knows a more natural way to cure acne and the scars?

Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks.

the dermatologist prescribed antibiotics for 1 month, differin, and hydrocortisone. this has helped 50%. i finished the antibiotic about 2 weeks ago. i seem to be stuck with the rest. it’s only on my face.
