i’ve tried proactiv, clean and clear, clearasil, biore and nothing worked! i even went to a dermatologist and it made it soo much worse!!

I’ve had these red blotches since I was in elementary school (now in high school). I do have a bit of acne, but I cleanse my face twice everyday with Clean & Clear, and sometimes put moisturizer on. My skin is slightly oily, but it’s mostly on my nose and forehead. I wash my hair everyday, if that matters, and I try to change my pillowcase as often as I can. I also clip my bangs to the side when I sleep, but these red blotches seem to never go away. The only things I pop are whiteheads, which don’t show up frequently.

I heard rosacea could be it, but from what I’ve researched, I don’t think I actually have it. Whatever’s causing it, it only appears on my cheeks. I do love spicy foods, but I control myself. The last time I went to a dermatologist was when my forehead was breaking out. My parents asked him to check my face to see if I could prevent pimples, because everything below my forehead was pretty much flawless, besides the red veins. He never said anything about them.

Are there any products that could help minimize, or even diminish these red blotches on my face? School is starting soon, and I feel really insecure about them.

Here’s a picture of my cheek:

I am asian, if that matters. I read that caucasians were more likely to have rosacea, and that ethnicities can contribute a bit to skin types.

Please answer if you can, and thanks in advance :) I apologize for such a long description.

I’m 16, have combination skin and have acne scars. They’re not like the ones you see on Lawrance Fishbourne that make your skin look like oatmeal, but they’re red and dark. I’m half Hispanic, but my skin is pretty light. So, my acne scars arr dark. I don’t want to have to go and see a dermatologist and let them make me take a bunch of harsh chemicals - I want something more natural.

What are some good home remedies that actually work?

Obviously, a dermatologist’s diagnosis would be the only sure way to tell, but I have just recently had some red spots come up on my face. I do not have acne, and these spots are red, blotchy, slightly itchy, and I have little bitty bumps, very small and unlike pimples; more like a rash. I have noticed them on my forehead between my eyebrows and down the bridge of my nose, around my t-zone on either side of my nose, and a few blotchy spots surrounding my mouth. The only thing I know of that may have brought this on would be a visit to a tanning bed, which has never brought on anything like this before. I just turned 31, it seems to me like I’m a prime candidate, as I’m the right age and fair skinned. If this is the case, what can I do? I started using Clinique’s Redness treatment for daily face care, but it’s killing me; I’m also oily skinned, and my oil has increased since I stopped using salicylic acid face products, and started using the Redness relief stuff. Help!!

I only have pimples or rather just red painful bumps around my mouth… nothing helps. one dermatologist said it might be rosacea and gave me metrogel and it doesnt work, i am not so sure its that… i think i might have irritation to smth, could it be toothpaste? what else can it be and how can i make this heal?? it’s soo painful to talk and even smile because these bumps/pimples are right around my mouth. thanks!

Can anyone one recommend any treatments to treat acne scarring? Can anyone recommend a decent & trustworthy dermatologist in the NYC area

I have excessively dry skin that is almost immune to any kind of lotion or cream. I am 13 and have had skin problems for almost four years, I am over acne but I still get blemishes. It is on my face (it’s affected my forehead, cheeks, and has even spread to my upper lip!), arms and hands and back. It’s horrible, I hate it. Please help! Oh, and my mom said that if it goes on for much longer I’ll have to see a dermatologist! That would be so embarrassing! Would you suggest a soap or cream for it if you can?

my cheeks were always flushed and people thought i wore blush since i was like ten but recently my skin has become redder and you can see dots that look like pimples but its not. and my skin is grainy so i use face scrubs and it makes it soft but my skin still looks blotchy uneven and i even have some veins under my nose. i went to the dermatologist but he was a complete jerk and in thirty seconds said it was acne and prescribed something but it just aggravated it. almost anything makes my skin too dry and i get red flare ups. i dont get it EVERYONE in my family has PERFECT skin, no acne, sun spots, pores and my skin is all messed up. also im 19 and latino (mixed indian, spanish, and french) and i thought it only occurred to older anglo people…i am light skinned and burn then tan but not light enough to look anglo so im kind of confused…what do you all think?

Ok, I am a 17 year old. I have had acne since I was about 12 and have been on many acne meds (Retin A, Ziana…etc). My face tends to get really, really red. It feels very hot to the touch and looks red all over, with emphasis on my cheeks, especially when embarrassed. It gets so bad that some are my friends are like "You’re almost purple!" Which tends to get really annoying…I also take hot showers so this might contribute to the redness. I have a dermatologist, but she hasn’t said anything even when I told her about the redness, but I will bring it up the next time I see her. If you have any suggestions to help with redness, please tell me.
