I am 10w3d and I have terrible acne, worse than I ever had in my entire life. My face, my neck, my back, my chest, it’s everywhere and nothing I try seems to have an effect on it. Is there anything I can do? Will it be like this throughout my entire pregnancy?

ahh, I wish I was luckier to get the pregnancy glow! I guess maybe since I dont have an negitive symptoms (nausea, heatburn, etc) then Im stuck with acne!

as far as I know I’m not pregnant. I have acne, but it seems to be worse lately. Is that something that can happen during pregnancy?

My skin is generally clear but this would be the 2nd of my 3 pregnancies to give me dry flakey skin and bad acne all over. Moisturizers of any kind make it worse. I’m interested in hearing from women who have had pregnancy induced acne and found some good releif. Thanks!

What are some active ingredients/specific products you shouldn’t use during pregnancy? What are the side effects? Feel free to add your experiences.

ok, I just had a baby girl 6 weeks ago and during the second trimester I developed a bad case of acne on back and chest, and 6 weeks later its still here! Its driveing me crazy. While I was pregnant my doc told me there is no use in wasting money on products to clear it up while i was pregnant because nothing would clear it because it was due to hormomes. But as i said its 6 weeks after the baby and the body acne is still here and and sem to be getting worse. Any advice on helping clear it or has anyone else experensed this due to pregnancy and what did they try to get rid of it? Thanks

I have severe acne that was pretty under control with a daily 3 step system (Clinique’s acne system, containing salicylic acid and benzol peroxide). After finding out I was pregnant, I stopped using it because I read that it wasn’t safe on an online baby website.

Soon after stopping the treatment, my entire face became covered with acne- every inch of it, worse than I’d ever seen on anyone in my life. At my first prenatal appointment, the nurse felt bad for me but said there really wasn’t anything I could do but use a plain cleanser and maybe some baking soda for a scrub.

Yesterday I had another appointment and I asked my OB if there was anything I could do about my acne. He suggested things like the 3 step system I had been using, and told me that so long as I was using it externally, I would be safe.

I’m so confused now! I do not want to take any risks, but at this rate, my complexion is going to be scarred for life. I don’t even want to show my face in public! I swear, nobody will ever see a picture of me from this pregnancy…or my wedding (getting married in a month). What on earth is a girl to do with all this conflicting advice?
Someone asked why I’m giving the internet so much ‘clout’…I’m not giving the internet any credit, just stating that as the reason I stopped using my acne treatment in the first place.

What the issue is, is that my OB’s nurse told me to absolutely stay away from anything with salycilic acid (one of many acne fighting ingredients she advised me to avoid), then my doctor turns around and says it’s okay to use it.

My OB has been wrong before about a few things (leading me to seek treatment for a condition elsewhere) which is the main reason I would have any doubt in what he says.

My sister is expecting her first child in May, Her skin is breaking out and going crazy thorught her whole pregnancy, but her shower is coming up soon and I was wondering if anyone knew anything she could do for this problem?
and Yes she is as way more bothered by this than anybody else.

I’m 6 months pregnant. What kind of face/body wash worked best for you during pregnancy? And any creams that I can buy from the store too? That you know for sure are safe.

I’m 13 weeks pregnant and have been using Clearasil Adult Tinted Treatment Cream for spot treatment for the last year or two, including my pregnancy to this point. I just read that acne medications are dangerous and shouldn’t be used, but this is the first time I’ve heard this! Still scares me though.

The active ingredient for mine is sulfur resorcinol (1% resorcinol and 8% sulfur). I tried to search but found nothing on this medication…only benzoyl peroxide and astringents.

Could this have been really bad for the baby? I plan on asking my Dr soon, but my next appt. is a week from now.

Thanks.
