Okay, so I was diagnosed with ‘mild’ acne (according to my GP) about 3 years ago. I was put on various treatments, and eventually, I was put on oxytetracycline tablets and isotrex cream. This cleared up my face. I stopped taking everything, and in the past couple of weeks spots have appeared. Now, am wondering if it’s acne, or, because ever since I was little, I’ve had a reddish pink complexion on my face, whether it’s rosacea? I mean, I’ve been to see a dermatologist who agreed with my GP in saying that I had/have a mild form of acne, but am wondering why my face is always red? Could it be that I have a mild form of acne, and my natural facial colouring is red? Wouldn’t a dermatologist have said whether it was either acne or rosacea?
Anyone know?
Forgot to say, I’m fair skinned (burn easily), blue eyes, blonde hair. My scalp is a pinkish red as well… always has been.
Oh, and the redness isn’t like… in certain parts i.e. my cheeks and and forehead… it’s the whole of my face. and my ears.
also, i’ve read that acne medicines can help with rosacea… if that’s the case, wouldn’t the redness have calmed down, if it was rosacea?
I can either use the differin cream I got from the dermatologist a year ago before I had rosacea and leave it on overnight and I won’t break out anymore but my rosacea will get worse, or I can stop using the cream and have mass breakouts…
I have been prescribed oxycodone, codeine, methadone, Fentanyl and a few other opiod/non-opiod combination medicines for pain in the treatment of a complicated nerve/skin disease. The quickest way to sum it up; Peripheral Neuropathy combined with Rosacea, and that is to say that my face always feels like it’s on fire. My face has always reacted to opiotes with acne and swelling, and it’s not normal pimples like I got back when I was a teenager, these were huge and deep under the skin, and they often changed the shape of my face. Trying to pop them would get me a trip to the hospitol and an antibiotic prescripton (Which would clear up the entire disaster within a week). I don’t use narcotics anymore. please give me your help
i dont want to use a heavy product becuase i can get acne easily and im such a young girl. i was thinking of a mineral powder, but which one is good? is bare minerals good? because i hear good and bad reviews about it. also i do have rosacea which is the cause of the redness and that’s all i need to cover, no pimples oranything. thank you
I’m 14 and rosacea runs in my family plus since I started getting less exercise or I dunno it could be just change in diet, environment, getting older whatever, I started getting more acne … I don’t use lots of makeup just concealer and a little powder on my face, I use a good Clinique thing so is it diet and activity that actually gives people that clearskinned glow?
hello i need to know from someone who has either sensitive skin or suffers from rosacea who has used this neutrogena product. i wanna know if it helped w/ the redness or acne or both without being too harsh. i’m using cetaphil gentle cleanser but i keep breaking out. i feel like it’s not cleaning enough and was thinking of switching. if you’ve tried it please let me know your thoughts… thanks. oh and if you can, let me know what moisturizer you use along with it. my face is going a bit crazy.
I don’t believe him. First one said it’s rosacea…that was a year ago and like 0 worth of medications (even with my insurance paying for most of it - 0 was my copay!)…I stopped that right away…I know my neck acne has to be folliculitis, it is big nodules and small little bumps that I pick at constantly and form scabs and dry up, then I pick them again and they bleed…they’re not pus-filled… any ideas? This money-monger new schmuck won’t admit it’s folliculitis - lemme email u a pic of it please someone… I just want to know!
My teen-aged daughter (a Crohn’s patient) seems to have red, blotchy patches on her checks and jaw. Within these patches are almost-invisible tiny bumps, that never quite go away. Her dermatologist has ruled out acne and seborrhea and doesn’t believe the condition to be eczema or psoriasis. I have seen references to IBD patients with rosacea, but have read that some of the treatments can bring on Crohn’s "flares". I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.
I’m a teenager and I have hardly any acne at all but my cheeks are always red! I’ve never been able to figure it out. They never burn but sometimes they do feel kind of warm. There’s nothing wrong with my face at all except I look like I’m flushed 24/7. I’ve read about rosacea and I don’t think it’s that and I don’t drink alcohol or eat spicy foods or anything like that so what could it be? I’ve looked all over the web and haven’t been able to find anything. Can anybody help me?
It can’t be hypertension because I’ve never experienced anything like that. I’m a high school athlete. I play basketball, baseball, and football and I’m in excellent shape from running and lifting every day. It might be rosacea but everything I’ve seen says rosacea happens to people in their 30’s and I’m 16! Anyone else got anymore ideas?
My cheeks are very pink/red (I’m always hot-just hot natured/been all my life) Even in December my cheeks were red because I was always hot. I don’t have acne, in fact everyone says I have such beautiful & clear skin. I blush easily. How can I get rid of this? I really don’t think its rosacea but I’m not sure what it is…please help!
